What is MAJC NOW?

MAJC NOW works towards solutions that address economic needs, toxic hazards, and community health. We assist impacted residents with envisioning the changes they want to see for their communities, identifying and pursuing funding sources, and tracking the implementation of the funding.

 
 

Meet the MAJC NOW Delaware Community Leadership Team

  • Molly Keogh

    Molly Keogh was born in Washington, D.C., educated and raised her family in upstate New York and has been a resident of Delaware for 35 years. Prior to retirement in 2010 Molly was employed as a mental health professional in community settings including criminal justice, treatment services for at risk youth and intensive out-patient services for adults with serious and persistent mental illness. Early in her career she established community volunteer programing for victims of domestic violence and was employed as a school counselor and high school social studies teacher. Social and environmental justice remain issues of deep concern to Molly as she joins other volunteers to target the needs present in the state of Delaware. As a member of the Social and Environmental Justice Committee of the Unitarian Universalists of Cental Delaware, Molly supports efforts to move our society closer to the ideals of social and environmental justice for all.

  • Rodney Barlow

    Rodney Barlow was incarcerated for 22 years and returned home to Dover, Delaware, hoping to right the wrongs he had inflicted on his community during the crack epidemic of the 1980s. In 2022, Barlow founded My Community's Keeper, a community organization working to help revitalize Downtown Dover and surrounding areas. Rodney is a Penn Foster Small Business Ownership program graduate and owner of Wayne's and Sammy's barbershop, Dover's oldest Black-owned barbershop. In addition, Rodney Barlow is on the Advisory Board of the Delaware Center for Justice.

  • Akima Brown

    Akima A. Brown is a filmmaker, organizer, caregiver, and mom. Though currently residing in Central Delaware with her family, she originally hails from Queens, New York. Growing up in the era of arts-activism, Akima believes the justice, wuity, and opportunity are basic requirements for all citizens. As a result of traveling all over for her work, she's been fortunate to participate in grassroots outreach and organization across the country and spanning a few continents. Akima is one of the newest members of the MAJC Now Community Team and brings her expertise in equity advancement, opportunity planning, coalition building, and public outreach.

Meet the MAJC NOW Regional Leadership Team

  • Kerri Evelyn Harris

    Kerri Evelyn Harris is the US Environmental Justice Program Advisor for Namati, the convening organization of the Mid-Atlantic Justice Coalition. Harris is has a background in legislative advocacy, issue campaigns, political campaigns, and community development.

  • Rosie Stone

    Rosie has been working in environmental law and policy for over 10 years. At Namati, she is the Senior Legal Officer for the US Environmental Justice Program, providing legal research, legislative analysis and advocacy support for community groups and grassroots organizers. Prior to joining Namati, she worked as a law fellow at Environmental Integrity Project and a law clerk for the Office of Enforcement at EPA Headquarters. She holds a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School (VLS).
